Hundreds of years after the Hero of Winds' failed attempt to found a New Hyrule, the worship of the Goddesses began to falter.
3 great Prophets: Artur, Veronica, and Johnathan rose up, and gathered a following.
They each founded a religion based on a different Goddess; Artur founded the Church of Din, and made his home on Windfall.
Veronica followed Nayru, and founded the Church of Nayru on Greatfish Isle.
Johnathan, the outcast, found the courage of Farore, and settled his following on Forest Haven.
A hundred years followed under that system; the goddesses were worshiped in their own churches on their islands. Then the differences of opinion in each Church began to grate on each-other's followers, leading to skirmishes and soon full-on war.
At first, Nimbt, the Wiseman of the Church of Nayru, seemed to be winning the war. He enlisted the aid of the islands around him, and pressed Doran, the Master of the Church of Din, and Foba, the Warrior-Leader of the Church of Farore, hard. The Churches of Din and Farore were forced onto the defensive, and Windfall's navy was decimated, leaving only Foba as a threat.
Then the Goddess Din appeared before the great Valoo, patron and protector of Dragon Roost. Following her wishes, he roused the Rito, and joined the fight of Doran and Foba.
With the aid of the Rito and the mighty Valoo, Nimbt and the Church of Nayru were defeated and scourged from the earth. The bombardment that they took shattered Greatfish as it had once been, before the Veronica, Prophet-leader of Nayru, restored the island to virdant life.
From the cracks in the earth, dark winds poured. The legions of hell, hordes of monsters, not seen in a hundred years, poured from the earth, the air, the sea itself.
In the center of them strode a man with violet hair and red eyes.
He laughed maniacally as the monsters flowed outwards, smashing into the stunned soldiers. They pushed the soldiers, servants of Din and Farore, into the sea.
All looked up as a roaring bugle smashed through the air. Valoo and his Rito flew above the one-sided battle, watching the soldiers being slaughtered.
The violet-haired man looked up, grinning. Then he raised his hand, and a jagged spear of lightning shot from it, lancing through the mighty dragon's chest.
As Valoo crumpled to the ground, the order for retreat was called.

Misc. notes:
Originally an idea for a War that would turn to an RP mid-way through, Kow and I (mostly me. >.>) decided this could work as a normal RP, as well.
It would be a fairly dark RP. A third of the military in the world has crumpled before the RP even starts, Valoo is dead in one hit, and the Goddesses themselves are apparently powerless to stop the monsters.
Yeah.
Not gonna have a happy-go-lucky char, at least for long.
I'm going to be running at least two different characters, if this is launched, and other people are welcome to do the same.
And this went from a vague idea to a full story, with internal politics and a few character ideas, in about 2 hours. It's still a work in progress.
The Rains of Fire is technically a working title. It may be changed, when I think of something different.
There will be fairly high starting power levels, mostly due to the monstrously powerful end-game enemies. But also partly because it starts to get boring, having pathetically weak characters to start with. <.< >.>
Anybody have any comments?
