(Story Post) The grand councilwoman stepped up before the gathered heroes before her. To one side of her was Admiral Terrance Hood, several high ranking marines, and Miranda Keyes. To her other side were several Elites, as well as the head Ambassador for the Federation, who's position is that of just lower than the Grand Councilwoman. The Councilwoman cleared her throat, and all payed her attention. "Allies of Earth, you come from many different backgrounds. Destroyed colonies, genetic experiments, rebels from the enemy. Whatever your pasts may be, you have been summoned to undertake the tasks set forth by this council, in order to bring about the defeat of our enemies. To this space station, so many of you have accumulated. You are now, through whatever circumstances, fighting alongside one another in the missions set forth to you," she paused a moment for breath. Once done, she continued, "I would first like to direct your attention to the pedastals before each of you. You will notice three items. A Comm. device, which will allow you to communicate with us at all times. It's small and portable, able to fit into any storage place. A lifesign detector that transmits your vitals to the other members via their Comm. Devices. It will not, however, transmit location, in case an enemy managed to capture one of your Comm. Devices. The final object is a Seringe containing an injection of a serum that will make you immune to most interplanetary diseases. However, be warned, don't be reckless. You can still get sick if you're careless, this injection is not a miracle cure, it simply prevents many of the deadly or debilitating diseases that we know of. The vaccination is, however, permanent. Now then, gathered ones. I would like to adress your first mission." A hologram of the planet Tallon IV came up. "Your first mission will be on Tallon IV, a former Chozo home planet. However, it is completely deserted, save for an infestation of monsters. Now, we've been picking up several odd readings from this area that we believe to be Phazon. You are to locate and gather information on the cause of this, and engage if needed. Do you all understand your mission? Good. Now then, you have 12 hours to prepare your leave. Do not leave early, do not be late. Good day." With that, she left the various hunters and soldiers to converse among themselves

((My spelling should be much better when I'm using my home PC, I've just installed the spell-check for Firefox ^_^))
Savya took her new equipment, bar the syringe. That, she merely picked up and inspected. "Do I have to use this thing?" she complained. She stood, stretching, before sitting again. She didn't know her way around, so she'd have to wait until more people began to leave.
((Heh, gonna have to do something about the words not recognized...*begins adding to dictionary*))

(just in case you didn't know, Tera was an elite who rebelled before the actual Elite rebellion) (Tera) I stood before the whining human. All 8 plus feet tall of me. Ilooked down at her. "Human, it is a vaccination so that you will not die once exposed to foreign atmospheres," I said, "you'll need it. The places we'll be visiting aren't exactly... sanitary."

Savya turned in her seat, and was about to make a witty comment, until she realized how much bigger the speaker was than her. "Well, er...I still don't like it," she muttered, and turned back in her seat, rolling back one sleeve, and tried to conjure up the courage to stick the needle into her arm. Every time the needle came close, her wrist flinched and she pulled the needle away again. She looked around again, laughing nervously. "Er...how do you do this without panicking?" she said, somewhere between joking and seriously asking. Without waiting for a response, she turned back again, and continued her attempt to inject herself.

(Tera) I snatched the needle from her hand. In her surprise, I took the opportunity to find her vein, and quickly stab it into her, effectively and rather painlessly administering the vaccine. I smiled... well, at least as well as a Sangheili can smile. I looked into her eyes. "See, easy, wasn't it?" I said, "trust me, when you do it right, it's almost painless. Cowardice is looked down upon in my race. My advice to you, try to think of the way it could go right. This of course does not apply to combat, as you want to think of how it could go wrong as well." I nodded to her. "I wish you luck, human female, as well as a strict, vigilant arm in combat."

((Lol, that's one way of doing it)) Savya nearly jumped out of her skin as the Sangeili took the needle and doing it for her, and had hardly any of time to react. "...Thanks, that saves me the trouble of killing myself with it," she grinned. "Coz I probably would've missed the vein and stuck it in the wrong bit," she added. Savya turned entirely around in her seat (before, she'd only been twisting her torso, now she sat sideways) "I'm okay when I'm in combat...I guess I'm just having trouble getting used to everything else, still," she said, "Hey, do you know if we're being assigned to squads for this? I hope I get put in the same squad as you, I reckon I could repay my debt to you for this," she chatted, pausing and pointing to the point she'd been injected for a second before continuing. "Coz, I owe you a big one there, y'know? I would've sat there for ages, ended up not doing it and dying the moment I came in contact with something nasty. Not that I would really would contact anything, seeing as I'm a sniper, but you never know. Sorry, I'll be quiet and let you talk now," she finally finished.

(Tera) I laughed. "You humans are an odd bunch," I said, taking a seat. "If you get assigned under me, you'll find I'm rather strict. I dislike cowardice in battle greatly. He who won't risk for his comrades does not deserve honor, or life," I said, cleching my fists. I looked at her. "So, what is your deal? I can see a few weapons on you, anything worth telling? As for me, I carry several weapons at all times. Two standard issue covenant plasma rifles, a Carbine rifle, a Beam rifle, which, if you didn't know, is our covenant version of your human sniper rifles. I also carry a rechargable energy sword, and several plasma grenades. If it ever comes down to certain death, I intend to go out with a bang"

"Well, doubt I have to tell you this, but a sniper is really just a support role. So, just by doing my job I'd be helping any nearby squads out. Me and my spotter-bot are happy to lay our lives...er...well...just my life down for others, that's why I chose to pursue the sniper class, rather than something safe like a medic...though I really don't need to say how terrible a medic I'd make...what with the needles and stuff..." Savya said, making a feeble attempt to make herself look a little better. If she'd made this person laugh, she was probably not making a good impression. "I don't carry a lot of equipment around with me, need to be able to move fast and silently, so I only have a dagger that uses plasma energy and a snipers rifle. Then just a few provisions, like my face mask and jetpack," she shrugged. ((*sings* Look at this photograph, every time I do it makes me laugh, how'd our eyes get so red? And what the hell is on Joey's' head? *stops singing* What can I say, I'm getting back into Nickleback ^_^; ))

(sorry for the short post) (Tera) I nodded. "Actually, back in the covenant, medic was one of the worst jobs you could get. Medics were required to go out into combat with no weaponry and heal on sight."

Syl almost opened her mouth to debate that point, but instead just pocketed the two items and picked up the syringe, sniffing at the end. Without hesitating, she carefully pushed it into her arm, and pushed in the liquid. When she removed it, shee placed it back on the pedastal. She'd probably already had a few of the vaccines of her own free will, buti t never hurt. finally, she got up the courage to say "Being a medica isn;t too bad, in our situation. At least we get weapons."

(Tera) I looked at the new girl. "Ah, but you see," I said, "you're a human medic. In the Covenant, that's how things were. If you died, you died for the sake of the 'great journey.' Pfft." I laughed. Stupid loyalists. Even now, they believed their great journey would bring them salvation. Instead, it would bring them death

(Sorry if they talked about the flood in sometime in Halo. I just played all of Halo and about 1/4 of Halo 2, so me no kno much)
Bruno remained silent, listening. He sighed, then picked up the needle and injected it to his vein, quite easily and swiftly too. He got up and walked over to them and said," The Covenant are just stupid. I don't even know why they wanted to have this 'journey'. I honestly think they practically want to die."
